I came across a drum kit i’ve been looking for on MegaUpload but I’m not sure if it’s legal. I know downloading music and movies and all that is illegal but are drum and sound kits illegal to download.

This really depends on what the program is. If it is something you normally have to pay for, then yes it is. If it is a free program, then it is safe to do so(Legally). I would recommend that you look up the program first and see if anyone is trying to sell it.
